![]() ![]() The 'under age 16' chat filter doesn't work very well. If the new filtering truly is required by law, it should only be applied to the 'underage' accounts, not everyone in the clan. It has not, and might never be, passed and signed into law. There are several big problems with the new 'under age 16' chat filter.Īs far as I have been able to determine, as yet there is only a proposed US law requiring providers to protect people under age 16 from exploitation. My clan has never allowed profanity or sharing of personal information and never will, but this new 'under age 16' chat filter that was included in the Autumn 2020 update is literally ruining the clan chat and therefore the overall game experience. As time goes on, it will be more difficult to rely on the progression of the base to help identify these accounts. Since this change only affects accounts created AFTER the October Update, it would be unlikely that any TH5+ accounts would be the cause. Kind of: you must kick out of the clan any member who has identified themselves as being under 16 years old. There is no way for clans or players to identify or deny entry to these individuals other than by conducting tests in clan chat after a new member joins to see if clan chat has been crippled. The end result is that accepting any player younger than 16 into your clan will cripple your clan chat. See the section titled "Age Verification for New Accounts" Profanity and personally identifiable information will be removed when detected in the clan chat channel regardless of individual players personal settings for filtering clan chat. Players who indicate they are under the age of 16 are designated as "young players"Ĭlans with one or more "young players" will have more strictly moderated Clan Chat. The October 2020 update brought a new age verification for new accounts feature where players are asked to enter their age after completing the new village tutorial when starting a new account. There is a bunch of incorrect information in this thread. ![]()
